People in our District are struggling to make ends meet. While the homeless look for shelter, our state legislatures focus on issues that do not put food on the table, stop crime, or improve our schools.
I have a new vision, back to basics and getting our children a good education, helping small business stay in business, and creating jobs for hard working folks. With common sense and community spirit, we can make California proud again.
Our infrastructure is wearing out. To maintain what we need requires building and upgrading vital infrastructure such as roads, schools, drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, hospitals, etc. I can help to secure alternative private, state, and federal financing for infrastructure, leaving more of your tax dollars for schools, law enforcement, and affordable housing. Our General Plans need an update to envision our future growth, including help for the homeless, housing for our families, local jobs, schools, and safety, while preserving our open spaces. Our next plan is due in 3 years, and it will set the course for the next 20 years on the balance between residential development, agriculture, water, the delta, wildfire protection, and open spaces. We need your input to build it right once we agree on what is right for our future.
I’m a professional Civil Engineer licensed in California with additional extensive Executive background in the Automotive, Electronics, Aerospace and Defense Industries.
For the last 6 years in my second career I’ve helped communities secure FEMA Hazard Mitigation Funding for Natural Disasters in California, Puerto Rico, Texas, and Hawaii. I was responsible for vetting proposed projects for technical feasibility and cost effectiveness, good and bad. I’ve helped to fund over 1$BN in projects to mitigate disasters from potential threats such as Floods, Hurricanes, Landslides, Earthquakes, and Wildfires.
My background includes building things right the first time. Things like roads, airports, buildings, 787 airplanes, BART cars, Patriot Missiles, M1 Tanks, and Chinook helicopters. Things that need careful planning to agree on and define what is critical to success, and designing a solution that works the first time at a price we can afford to build it the first time.
I’ve seen projects that will work right and projects that won’t work. We can secure Federal and Private Funding for well planned General Plan Infrastructure and avoid more taxes. But we only get one chance to build it right-the first time, we need your input!
